Court of protection

The Court of Protection gives family/loved ones the authority to act on behalf of someone who has lost mental capacity, but has not put a Power of Attorney in place (or allocates a person where nil available). Find out more on the GOV.UK website.


Area specific guidance for Camden

There are a range of services available for patients suffering with dementia in Camden, including specialist assessments, intervention services, counselling, mental health care and falls prevention.

Referrals to the Memory Service have been lower than usual in 2022. Please do not hesitate to refer to the team if patients or carers have concerns.

Safe and Sound Community Alarm Service

Haringey Connected Care Service is a 24-hour, 365-days-a-year emergency service provided by Haringey Council. It offers older people, vulnerable people, people with disabilities and victims of domestic violence and harassment a home safety and personal security system. It also provides a quick response if there is an emergency triggered in the home.

During office hours, there are specialist assessors to identify appropriate equipment and technicians to install and ensure that the equipment is working and that service users and carers know how it works.
