The NCL GP IT team has now (September 2023) completed a project to replace the legacy backup services within primary care for the practice shared drive folder with a cloud-hosted backup service.

This service is monitored and maintained by the GP IT team, meaning there is no longer any requirement to change backup tapes daily or check that the previous night's backup was successful.

Practices are asked to retain their current backup tapes, should the GP IT team need to perform a historic data restoration for data backed up prior to the new service deployment. NCL ICB will advise once these tapes are no longer required and the process for safe destruction.

For any questions or concerns, contact the GP IT Service Desk.
