Urgent Suspected Cancer

For information on making urgent suspected cancer (USC) referrals (formerly known as 2WW) look for the dedicated service pages on tumour-specific USC referral routes listed below. Enter 'USC' into the filter by bar to create a short list.

If there is no dedicated page, go to the Urgent Suspected Cancer: Other Tissue Types page.

For non-specific symptoms, go to the Urgent Suspected Cancer for Non-Specific Cancer Symptoms: Rapid Diagnostic Centres page.

Visit the NCL Cancer Alliance website for details of the Your cancer pathway support guide, which offers comprehensive support for patients who are referred on a suspected cancer pathway or who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Non-specific Symptoms Rapid Diagnostic Centre pathway

Wood Green CDC supports the Rapid Diagnostic Centre pathway from North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH) via its CT department. This enables faster imaging access for patients with non-specific symptoms such as unexplained weight loss, abdominal pain, or fatigue. The pathway helps to:

  • rule cancer in or out
  • recommend next steps
  • suggest primary care follow-up where needed.

See How to Order the NSS/RDC pathway test bundle on the dedicated ICE page.
