RFL update: NMUH introduces referral assessment service for upper GI urgent suspected cancer

NCL Wide

The upper GI urgent suspected cancer (USC) service will be moving to a Referral Assessment Service (RAS) model at North Middlesex University Hospital within the next few weeks.

All referrals will be clinically triaged in the first instance and patients should expect to be contacted within three working days to arrange their first appointment. Depending on the outcome of the triage, this may be:

  • a telephone consultation
  • a face-to-face outpatient appointment
  • an appointment within our one-stop clinic, where a transnasal endoscopy (TNE) may be offered.

Please ensure the relevant Pan-London USC referral form is fully completed and attached when submitting referrals
