The NCL Prevention and Vaccination project managers have created a Call/Recall guidance and templates pack which provides GP practices with essential information to manage childhood immunisation invitations efficiently. This pack includes:

1. Call/Recall guidance document, detailing the core standards and how to optimise the Call/Recall process in your practice
2. ready-to-use text and letter templates for childhood immunisation Call/Recall
3. telephone scripts for administrative staff to use to communicate clearly and effectively with parents

To support practices with the additional call/recall required for children who were given a 4th Hexavalent vaccine during the London 2022 Polio additional booster campaign, a guidance, searches and templates document and a searches folder have been created by the team for practices to use to contact these children.

Welcome to the World

The team are also excited to launch a brand-new pathway and resource, ‘Welcome to the World’, specifically aimed at engaging parents of newborns. This pathway is designed to guide practices in welcoming new families and providing essential information to new parents.

The ‘Welcome to the World’ includes:

1. a practice pathway (Early Engagement for Primary Immunisations Pathway), ensuring all new parents receive timely communications about organising appointments for the postnatal check, 6-8 week baby check and 1st immunisation appointment.
2. a ‘Welcome to the World’ letter template, which practices can use and customise to share with parents of newborns, offering key information and providing appointments for the parent and newborn.
3. a ‘Welcome to the World’ pack, featuring essential guidance for parents, including details about local services in the borough, advice, immunisation
