Hepatitis B Vaccine Service

NCL Wide

This hepatitis B home service is intended to improve the uptake of vaccines and testing, and therefore reduce hepatitis B mother to child transmission within London. A domiciliary service will also reduce the burden for families to navigate the complex health system immediately after the birth of their baby.

The domiciliary service in London provides the 4-week and 12-month dose of hepatitis B vaccines and dried blood spot test at home through the Children’s and Young People’s Community Immunisation Service (CYPCIS). The CYPCIS provider covering all NCL Boroughs is Vaccination UK.

There may be instances where GP practices wish to offer the selected hepatitis B programme themselves, which includes doing a dried blood spot test at 12 months alongside the 12-month dose. For any queries, practices should contact england.londonimms@nhs.net.

The London wide BCG Protocol is updated by NHSE London Region regularly. For the latest version visit the guidance on the hepatitis B antenatal screening and selective neonatal immunisation pathways on the GOV.UK website.
