CAMHS Crisis line for young patients can be accessed while they await referral. The line operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

If you think a child or young person is in crisis and needs same-day CAMHS input, call the NCL CAMHS senior on-call advice line on 020 3758 2056. This is staffed from 9am-midnight, seven days a week (access for professionals only). 

This may avoid an unnecessary long wait in A&E as some cases can be seen in a CAMHS crisis hub or managed remotely by their crisis team. 


Haringey Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a multi-disciplinary outpatient service that provides assessments and treatments for children and young people who are experiencing serious mental health problems, or marked emotional and behavioural problems which are complex and enduring and have a significant impact on the child or young person’s functioning.

How to Refer

BEH single point of access, for triage and intake across Barnet, Enfield and Haringey

Introduced in October 2023 for referrals.

Haringey CAMHS ACCESS team, for referrals (until Monday 1 April 2024) and non-referral enquires

Referral via this phone number will be phased out on Monday 1 April 2024.

The team will provide one-off advice and signposting if not appropriate for CAMHS. Referrals to CHOICES and the Tavistock can be made via CAMHS ACCESS.

NCL Out of Hours Nursing Team

For health and care professionals only.
