CAMHS Crisis Line
The North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT, a merger of BEH and CANDI) Barnet Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) crisis line for young patients can be accessed while they await referral. The line operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is for public use: 0800 151 0023
If a child or young person is in crisis and needs same-day CAMHS input, clinicians should call the NCL CAMHS senior on-call advice line on 020 3758 2056. This is staffed from 9am-midnight, seven days a week (please note this number is for professionals ONLY).
This may avoid an unnecessary long wait in A&E as some cases can be seen in a CAMHS crisis hub or managed remotely by their crisis team.
Barnet Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provides multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of children and young people with moderate-to-severe mental health or severe emotional and behavioural difficulties in the London borough of Barnet.
For a full list of Barnet CAMHS teams and services, including the Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Service, please see the Downloads and Related Services sections.
