Transient ischaemic attack (TIA) clinics providing rapid assessment and treatment run daily (Monday to Friday) at Barnet Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. The clinics aim to see all patients within 24 hours of referral.

Royal Free London (RFL) does not run a weekend service.

From midday on Friday to 9am on Monday, refer patients to the University College London Hospital's hyper-acute stroke unit (HASU), via the HASU specialist registrar.

If the patient is not currently symptomatic but high-risk TIA, call the hyper-acute stroke unit specialist registrar.

You can check for your nearest TIA unit using the London Stroke Unit Lookup tool.
