How to Refer
Swiftqueue or by telephone
Telephone
Patients are able to schedule their own appointments by telephone and must bring their blood test referral forms to the appointment.
Once an ICE request has been created or a patient has been given a blood request form, practices can send patients a text message via Accurx with a link to book an appointment.
Swiftqueue
Patients are able to schedule their own appointments via Swiftqueue.
Practices registered on SwiftQueue can directly book all blood test appointments for their patients.
Urgent slots are available daily for urgent same-day bloods.
- Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm
- Saturday, 9am-4.30pm
Reminder: For EMIS-requested blood tests, patients need to collect and bring their blood test referral forms to their appointment at the CDC. Download the GP Swiftqueue booking guide for more information.
EMIS form
Referral methods: e-RS
Booking phlebotomy appointments at the CDC via e-RS
- once in e-RS, practices should choose diagnostic pathology selecting specialty 'blood test'
- practices should inform the patient of the generated UBRN and password, along with the booking telephone line and online weblink. The patient can then book their appointment time
- do not select 'defer to provider' when initiating the appointment process for your patients
- there is no need to email a blood test form
- patients can book an appointment AFTER the request form has been sent
Sending SunQuest ICE (Clinisys) forms to Whittington Health
At Haringey and Islington practices where SunQuest ICE is installed, please continue to request blood tests for your patients via SunQuest ICE. The CDC accepts blood requests via TQuest, however, the blood request form must be printed for the patient to bring along with them.
Once an ICE request has been created or a patient has been given a blood request form, practices can send patients a text message via Accurx with a link to book an appointment.
For more information on how to use the system, visit the ICE page.
