Cardiology Diagnostics: UCLH
NCL WideProvided By
UCLH Cardiology has reverted the request process for diagnostic requests to be sent to the UCLH email: UCLH.cardiology@nhs.net (so no change to request form). GP direct-access cardiac diagnostics will be clinically triaged and then redirected if appropriate to the NCL Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Finchley Memorial Hospital.
The request form should be sent to UCLH.cardiology@nhs.net. Those not redirected will be seen at UCLH (diagnostics for local vulnerable patients will continue to be seen at UCLH). This process does not impact on walk-in ECG requests.
If you are notified by the CDC of any unexpected findings on these tests and advised to refer on to secondary care for cardiology review, if referring to UCLH, please include the echo report in your referral. If the echo report is not included this may delay triage and an appointment being offered.
How to Refer
EMIS form
Referral methods: Email
For diagnostic referrals (e.g. 24-hour tape, blood pressure, echocardiogram, exercise tolerance tests), complete the Request for Cardiac Investigation - UCLH form and email to UCLH.cardiology@nhs.net
Please note: A clear indication of why the test is needed, with a blood test result and/or an ECG tracing, is required as part of the referral. All referrals for an echo will be triaged for appropriateness and rejected if there is insufficient information.
