The Royal Free London (RFL) cardiology service offers the following tests:
- 24-hour blood pressure monitor
- five-day loop (only available at Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital)
- 24-hour ECG (tape)
- echocardiogram
- 12-lead ECG (already in use).
Please note: RFL does not offer a walk-in ECG service at any site. Appointments must pre-booked using e-RS. If there are no available slots, select 'defer to provider' and the cardiology team will book an appointment for your patient as soon as one is available. How to Refer
EMIS form
Referral methods: e-Referrals
All RFL sites (Royal Free Hospital, Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital and Edgware Community Hospital) are open for direct-access cardiac diagnostic tests via e-RS. The trust will not accept referrals via email or Advice & Guidance.
When referring the patient in e-RS, select the following:
- Specialty: Diagnostic Physiological Measurement
- Clinic Type: Cardiac Physiology
To directly book the patient into an appointment, please:
- Pick the test from the drop down list that you require
- Attach to the e-RS referral the correct completed referral form (see below).
Test results are emailed back to the GP. To avoid delay, provide an email address.
