Weight Management Programme for Adults: Healthwise
BarnetProvided By
Healthwise offers a 12-week lifestyle weight management programme (tier 2) for overweight or obese adults, providing weekly one-hour nutritional sessions focusing on goal setting, facilitated discussion, social support, and promoting healthy eating. Participants are also directed to structured physical activities to encourage an active lifestyle, incorporating motivational interviewing for sustainable behavioural changes.
Patients referred to Healthwise by a GP or healthcare professional will require a membership (£30 per month or £6 pay or play from the 1 January 2026) to participate in the programme.
Referrals into the weight management programme sit under the NHS Digital Community Services Data Set (CSDS), which means a certain amount of data is securely shared with NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), to produce anonymised/pseudonymised reports. These reports help Healthwise and NHSE/I to improve the care provided to patients and other service users. Patients can manage the choice about how their confidential patient information is used beyond your own individual care by NHSE/I, including your rights to opt out.
