Podiatry Service: CLCH

Barnet

The Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) podiatry team offers a variety of services, from in-growing toenail treatment to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions affecting the foot and lower limb.

The treatments are focused on relieving symptoms, improving function, preventing disease, and maintaining independence and wellbeing.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • any age
  • moderate or high podiatric need
  • higher-risk diabetes
  • poor circulation
  • history of ulceration
  • amputation or infection
  • reduced sensation in the feet
  • rheumatoid disease
  • those on/with immunosuppressant medicines or conditions

Exclusions

  • Patients with low-risk diabetes presentation (absence of diabetes risk complications or requiring diabetes screening), who have a low risk foot (no risk factors present e.g. no loss of sensation, no signs of peripheral vascular disease) with low podiatric need
  • Patients who are blind/partially sighted with low podiatric and low medical needs
  • Patients unable to touch their toes with low podiatric and low medical needs
  • Patients who can provide self-care, i.e. toenail cutting and skin care (unless clinically appropriate for high-risk patients
  • Patients who do not comply with agreed treatment plan
  • Patients with callous and corns that have no medical presentation or are low risk diabetic and hence are non-limb threatening
  • Patients with fungal infections of skin/nail
  • Patients requiring verrucae treatment
  • Patients with minor/non-limb threatening biomechanical problems
