Referral methods: e-RS

General hepatology clinics

Refer to the Clinical Assessment Service (CAS), which allows patients to have diagnostic test prior to being seen by the medical team.

You can still refer patients into the hepatology service, but appointments will be booked by the trust according to clinical need and date of referral.

If your patient needs an urgent referral, please submit an advice and guidance request, via e-RS. This will be reviewed and a response sent back within 72 hours.

Liver service enquiries and GP referrals

For urgent (not suspected cancer) referrals, submit an advice and guidance request via e-RS, this will be reviewed and a response sent back within 72 hours.

Urgent Suspected Cancer: Upper GI referrals

Urgent Suspected Cancer: Lower GI referrals

Most patients will be seen within six weeks of referral. For urgent referrals, please telephone or fax the consultant's secretary. The out-patient appointment centre manages enquiries from patients.
