Most people with learning disabilities, will have general health needs which can be supported by their GP. The GP surgery should offer adults and young people aged 14 or over with a learning disability, an annual health check at the GP practice. An annual health check helps you stay well by talking about your health and finding any problems early, so you get the right care. Some people have not been offered annual health checks, but it is your right to ask for one.

If the Learning Disability Partnership is not the right service for the person you are referring they will support them with information, signposting and advice. Information on education and employment, sexual and physical matters, welfare rights, and housing is readily available and appropriate referrals, will be made. Call the Integrated Access Team on 020 8489 1400 or email IAT@haringey.gov.uk. More information about the Integrated Access Team can be found on their website.
