NMUH cares for a range of conditions including specialised red cell disorders and haemato-oncology level 2 services, with the exception of haemophilia and bone marrow/peripheral blood transplantation (levels 3 and 4).
Inpatient services are based around 11 haematology inpatient beds and two haematology day care units. 11 outpatient clinics are held each week.
Community, outreach and paediatric haematology services are also provided.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusions
- Red cell disorders such as sickle cell disease, thalassaemia
- Blood cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma (level 2B)
- Blood clotting disorders including thrombophilia and bleeding disorders (except inherited bleeding disorders)
- Blood transfusion service and advice
- Anticoagulation service and advice
