Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic: UCLH

The University College London Hospitals (UCLH) Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic (RACPC) provides specialist cardiology assessments to patients with new onset chest pain and also for patients with existing angina who have a change in symptoms.

Patients are usually offered an appointment within two weeks of a referral. Clinics are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings on the UCLH site.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • patients with new onset exertional chest pain thought likely to be due to underlying coronary artery disease 
  • patients with new onset chest pain thought to be due to underlying coronary artery disease and who have cardiovascular risk factors
  • patients who have known ischaemic heart disease with worsening symptoms who are not under follow-up with a cardiologist.

Exclusions

  • patients who need urgent assessment for suspected myocardial infarction (MI) or acute coronary syndrome (ACS) should be sent to A&E.
