MSK Clinical Assessment and Triage Service

The Community Musculoskeletal (MSK) Clinical Assessment and Triage Service (CATS) provides expert care for complex MSK conditions in a community setting, including:

  • MSK diagnostic investigations
  • Steroid injections (blind and ultrasound guided)
  • High-volume injections
  • Onward referral to secondary care (orthopaedics, rheumatology and pain services)
  • Onward referral to community services (physiotherapy and podiatry)

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • aged 18 and over
  • registered with a Camden GP

Exclusions

The MSK CATS route is not suitable for:

  • red flags/urgent
  • post-surgical problems
  • acute trauma
  • previously assessed patient suitable for surgery
  • patients under 18
