Camden MSK Integrated Community Service

Camden

The Camden Musculoskeletal (MSK) services are an integration of a full range of MSK services available throughout Camden, including:

  • community services (physio, CATS, podiatry and pain services)
  • secondary care (orthopaedics and rheumatology)

The clinical model for Camden MSK is as follows:

  • Single Point of Access (SPoA) to process all referrals
  • specialist clinicians to triage all referrals
  • multi-disciplinary team working
  • named Care Co-ordinator for all case management
  • clinically integrated MSK services

The Camden MSK website (see external links below) has online resources for pain management support, home exercise, and emotional wellbeing.

Inclusions

  • Camden patients, aged 18 and over, with an MSK need
  • exceptions may be made for patients who are just under 18

How to Refer

With the exception of self-referrals into physiotherapy (see below), only e-Referrals are accepted.

Once the referral has been received, it will be triaged and directed to the most appropriate service in Camden MSK (please see Downloads for a guide).

Urgent rheumatology referrals

For urgent rheumatology referrals, tick the Urgent box on the referral form. Complete form with as much referral information as possible. Urgent referrals are sent directly to Rheumatology on day of receipt and followed up with a confirmation of receipt by the Camden MSK admin team.

Please note that all patients referred to spinal neurosurgery will be managed by Camden MSKs Single Point of Referral for triage.

Self-referral by telephone is the quickest way to access the service. Please provide patient leaflet (see Downloads).

getUBetter

Any patient registered with a Camden GP can access getUbetter by registering for an account.

getUbetter is a digital musculoskeletal (MSK) self-management web application, available as a smartphone app (iOS and Android) and as an app accessed via a laptop or desktop computer web browser.

getUBetter provides 24/7 self-management support. Patients will be supported digitally through your recovery day-by-day with personalised, evidence-based behaviour change techniques which includes symptom checking, nudges, videos, exercises and outcome measures. It empowers patients to self-manage your musculoskeletal problems, and access Camden MSK clinical services if necessary.
