Female Genital Mutilation: Child Clinic

Medical and psychological treatment for female genital mutilation (FGM) in children and young people.

Practitioners have close links with police, social care and local community groups. Where FGM is confirmed, other children within victim's family will be assessed. Referrals to counselling and surgery made, if required.


Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • girls aged 0-18 years who:
    • have suffered female genital mutilation (FGM)
    • may be at risk of FGM
    • for whom there is a suspicion or disclosure that they have undergone FGM
