Speech & Language Therapy Mental Health Team

CamdenIslington

The Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Mental Health team provides a service to both in-patients and community clients of Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) who have communication or swallowing difficulties (dysphagia).

The team works directly with clients and may also work with family or carers to support more effective communication and safer eating and drinking. Clients can be seen at the Health Centre, in community locations, on inpatient wards, at home or via video appointments.

The service cannot offer individual work to people who are not patients of C&I NHS FT.

Group work is offered to autistic adults who may or may not be C&I NHS FT patients if they have a formal diagnosis of an autism spectrum condition.

The service also offers relevant training for staff, either in person or online via Teams.
