Paediatric Rapid Access Clinic: WH

Whittington Paediatric Rapid Access Clinic (PRAC) is a consultant-led urgent referral clinic that operates Monday-Friday, 8.30am-12.30pm.
The clinic is run as an urgent-access clinic. An urgent, booked appointment will be available within the next few working days. The PRAC bookings are managed by the Children's Ambulatory Unit (CAU) administrator who is based in the department and works full-time.
Please note: Children needing same-day assessment should be referred to the Paediatric Emergency Department.
Same-day assessments
A same-day paediatric assessment can be arranged when needed by contacting the paediatric specialist registrar via the main hospital switchboard:

Alternatively, a paediatric consultant can be reached for advice on the GP hotline, between 9am and 9pm:

Eligibility Criteria
Inclusions
Children aged up to 16 years:
- with a new onset acute problem.
Exclusions
Children with a:
- chronic condition (please refer to standard outpatient clinic service)
- problem relating to an already diagnosed condition
- medical emergency (please bleep the on-call paediatric SpR on bleep 3111 to arrange an urgent review).

Complete the Paediatric Rapid Access Clinic (PRAC) Referral - Whittington form and email to: whh-tr.childrensambulatorycare@nhs.net
The referral will be graded by a consultant paediatrician and an appointment booked. The parents will be contacted by telephone and informed of the appointment time.
