Paediatric ENT: RFL

The Royal Free London (RFL) Paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) team offers a comprehensive diagnostic service for paediatric ENT conditions, such as glue ear and hearing loss, ear discharge, recurrent tonsillitis, blocked nose, nasal discharge and childhood nose bleeds.
Formal hearing tests can be conducted for children aged four and above.
Specialist ENT surgery is offered for children aged two and above, including:
- adenoidectomy
- grommets
- tonsillectomy
- glue ear
- pinnaplasty.
Eligibility Criteria
Exclusions
- the trust does not see tongue tie or two-week wait (2WW) paediatric patients; these should be referred to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
How to Refer

Referral methods: Email, Hand to Patient
For urgent referrals, complete the ENT urgent review clinic referral and send to rf.entadmin@nhs.net
Patients should be advised to come immediately to the emergency department, with a referral letter addressed to the medical team on-call or with the completed EMIS form.
