The Islington Additional Needs and Disability Service (IANDS) offers support and services through a range of healthcare professionals to help children and young people with additional needs and disabilities to reach their full potential. 

The service works in partnership with Islington local authorities across various locations, including health centres, schools, nurseries, children's centres and Whittington Hospital.


Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • aged under 18 years
  • registered with an Islington GP.

Exclusions

Referrals for:

  • speech, language and communication including social communication differences and autism
  • lower limb/gait issues.

GPs should signpost parents to the Local Offer. If following engagement with that offer, concerns remain, the early years practitioner will refer to IANDS.


How to Refer

Consent for referral is mandatory. Referrers other than GPs should send a copy of the referral to the child’s GP and keep a copy for their records.
