Help on Your Doorstep (HOYD) aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Islington, especially those who are vulnerable and isolated. By identifying people who may be at risk, the service provides early support to prevent the need for later crisis interventions. It works in partnership with other voluntary and public services working in Islington and aims to connect people to the help that is available to them.

Connect Service

HOYD's Connect service teams provide information and referrals to specialist advice organisations and services.

They can help with a wide range of issues, including:

  • children, young people and families including family support and youth or play activities
  • domestic violence
  • employment and learning including employment support, skills and qualifications and volunteering opportunities
  • health and wellbeing including disability/mobility support, drug or alcohol misuse, physical health, mental health and wellbeing
  • housing including disrepair, risk of homelessness, home safety and fuel costs
  • legal problems
  • money including debt, welfare benefits and financial hardship.

Social Prescribing

HOYD SPLWs also operate in the North 1 and Central 2 PCN areas.
