CT & MRI Imaging: North Middlesex University Hospital
NCL WideProvided By
The imaging service at North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH) offers GP Direct Access referrals for computerised tomography (CT) scans and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans if patients meet the criteria.
MRI at NMUH is not available for Enfield, refer to Wood Green CDC or InHealth services instead.
- CT by appointment only: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
- MRI by appointment only: Monday to Friday 8am to 9pm
Patient results
Results are provided back to the referrer and GP. The turnaround may depend on the urgency of the request. Routine scans will be returned within 28 days. If not received enquire by email.

Patient transport
When referring a patient who needs hospital transport or who has mobility difficulties, please clearly mark this in the referral. This will help ensure that Royal Free London (RFL) has the appropriate number of staff during the patient's appointment and while they wait for their transport home.

Inclusions
- CT head
- CT chest
- CT pancreas
- CT KUB
- MRI brain
- MRI spine
- MRI MSK
- MRI abdomen, liver, MRCP (where previous imaging has been performed)
Exclusions
- MRI is not available to Enfield, refer to Wood Green CDC or InHealth services instead.
- MRI is not available for patients with cardiac pacemakers
