The lymphoedema service provided by Accelerate CIC treats primary and secondary lymphoedema due to any cause (cancer related or not). This includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management. It is based at St Joseph's hospice in Hackney.

Treatment aims to:
•    prevent infection (cellulitis) and hospital admission
•    prevent lymphorrhoea (leaking lymph fluid)
•    reduce swelling and correct shape distortion of limb
•    educate and support patients to self-care
•    improve limb function/mobility.

The service can also provide transport. 

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

• Aged 18+
• Cancer-related or non-cancer-related lymphoedema

Exclusions

• Patients with limited mobility or mobility impairments, should be referred to local community services for first line management.
