Coroner's Service: Outer North London

The HM Coroner's Court for north London, which covers Barnet, Brent, Enfield, Haringey, and Harrow, is based in Barnet.

  • The Senior Coroner is HM Coroner Andrew Walker.
  • The Area Coroner is Tony Murphy.
  • The Coroner, Inquest Manager and facilities support are based at the Court building.
  • Metropolitan Police Staff Coroner's Officers are not based at the Court building.

The Court is committed to keeping the public safe and operates within the Health and Safety Risk Assessment.

The duty Coroner provides out-of-hours support surgery for urgent matters only between 10am-10pm during the week (until 12pm on the weekend). Outside of those hours, the below requests are responded to:

  • organ donation
  • police murder investigations
  • urgent out-of-country orders (where the deceased is being repatriated).

If you would like to seek advice from the Coroner, or if you would like to make a referral to the Coroner following a patient death due to accident, suicide, violence, neglect (by self or others) or industrial disease or death for which the cause is not known, complete the referral form Coroners Service Referral and send to: Enquiries.northlondon@CoronerService.Haringey.gov.uk
