HIV Prevention

NCL Wide

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a medication taken by people who are HIV-negative to prevent HIV acquisition. It is up to 99% effective when taken correctly.

Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is used to prevent HIV acquisition following sexual, occupational or other non-occupational exposures in the community. PEP must be taken within 72 hours of the exposure, though ideally as soon as possible.
