Emergency Hormonal Contraception (pharmacy-delivered) LCS
CamdenEmergency Hormonal Contraception (pharmacy-delivered) LCS
This locally commissioned service (LCS) provides access to emergency hormonal contraception as described below. This service is provided within the criteria specified by the Patient Group Direction. List of pharmacies signed up to deliver this service is attached to this page.
Eligibility Criteria
- aged 13 to 24 (inclusive) requesting Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) following an incident of Unprotected Sexual Intercourse (UPSI) or failure of a contraceptive method
This LCS involves (see service specification attached for more details):
- the timely provision of contraceptives or referral to sexual health accredited pharmacies or health services if provision cannot be made in the required timeframe
- providing advice and written information on safe sexual health practices, including provision of condoms or pregnancy tests
- referral to the GP provided Long Acting Reversible Contraception Public Health LCS for long-term protection and Sexual Health Public Health LCS for screening for sexually transmitted infections. The list of GP practices signed up to deliver these services is attached to this page.
