Upcoming Review — this page is due to be reviewed by Sunday, 20 October 2024. The information shown here may be outdated.

The Veterans' Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provides veteran-sensitive comprehensive mental health assessment along with assertive treatment and advocacy.

Assessments cover:

  • mental health
  • drug and alcohol
  • physical health
  • employment
  • finances
  • social and housing needs.

Individuals are referred to mainstream NHS services and charities (including veteran-specific charities). The service also offers information to partners and family members and helps to access local services if required.

If mainstream services cannot be identified or an individual falls between the gaps of services, they can be treated in house. Treatment includes psychological therapies and case management. If a veteran needs urgent care, they can be seen within five working days of referral.

Self-referral Patient Leaflet

Clients can self-refer, but many find it difficult to take that first step into treatment. Therefore, a referral from an agency, in agreement with the client, is preferable.

For self-referrals, the client should fill out the referral and consent form available online and post to:

OP Courage: Veterans’ Mental Health TIL Service - London and South East St Pancras Hospital, 4th Floor, West Wing, 4 St Pancras Way, London, NW1 0PE

For advice about self-referrals, the client can get in touch with the service.
