Paediatrics: RFL

NCL Wide

Paediatric services at Royal Free London (RFL).

The Royal Free Hospital paediatric gastroenterology team is no longer accepting referrals from primary care.

Please do not refer children to this service and instead contact your local paediatrician who will refer to the gastroenterology team if required.

The aim is to help reduce the number of inappropriate referrals and to reduce appointment waiting times. This is in line with other tertiary services across north central London.

Patients that have been referred to the paediatric gastroenterology team before Friday 11 August will be seen by the team. Full details can be found in Downloads.

If you have any concerns about patients currently waiting for an appointment, contact the paediatric gastroenterology team at e: rf-tr.paedgastro@nhs.net The inbox is monitored Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

The RFL maxillofacial team has produced a GP information leaflet on tongue-ties to help reduce inappropriate referrals to secondary care. See Downloads for the full document.

How to Refer

Urgent referrals to RFH

Please note: If you have not discussed the referral with the consultant paediatrician and an appointment has not been confirmed, your referral will not be accepted.
