Computerised tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, with some exclusions (see below), are available for GP direct access.

• CT by appointment only: Monday to Friday 8am-8pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm
• MRI by appointment only: Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-5pm

Exclusions

CT

• CT pulmonary angiograms: please refer patient to ED if PE is suspected.
• CT cardiac 
• CT under GA/IV sedation

MRI

• MR Breast, MR arthrograms
• Patients with clinically suspected cord/cauda equina compression should be admitted to A&E or UCLH ward. These scans are not performed as outpatient studies.
