Bladder & Bowel Management Continence Service: RFL

Enfield

The Bladder & Bowel Continence Service provides specialist nursing advice on managing bladder and bowel dysfunction, offering one-to-one assessments, diagnosis, and management, bladder ultrasound scans, referrals to other professionals, assessment for continence aids or products, education for managing continence issues, and ongoing training and support for staff.


Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • residents of Enfield aged 18+ with an Enfield GP who have a continence condition such as:
    • overactive bladder (including urgency with urge incontinence)
    • symptoms related to function
    • stress incontinence
    • neurological bladder and bowel incontinence
    • nocturia
    • frequency, constipation and pelvic organ prolapse
    • nocturnal enuresis
    • constipation pelvic organ prolapse
    • overactive bladder
    • functional, stress and/or urge incontinence

Exclusions

  • children under 18
  • routine indwelling catheterisation/catheter-related problems

Referral methods: Email

Referrals are via the ECS SPA form and should include a full medical history and current medication. 

The Adult Services Single Point of Access Referral form - Enfield Community Services form should be sent to the following centralised ECS address: rf-tr.ecsadultsinglepointofaccess@nhs.net

Where to find the form

Once the referral has been received, it will be screened by non-clinical administrators with no changes to clinical response times.
