Helen Bamber Foundation: Extreme Violence Survivor Support

Specialist charity providing care and support for people who have survived extreme physical, sexual and psychological violence. Delivers a range of integrated services to address complex needs and vulnerabilities, including:

  • specialist psychological care
  • physical rehabilitation activities (alongside an advisory GP clinic)
  • expert medico-legal documentation
  • safeguarding
  • welfare and housing support
  • creative arts
  • employability skills programmes

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • aged 18+
  • living in Greater London
  • those who have survived state and non-state torture, human trafficking and other forms of extreme physical, sexual and psychological violence
  • those who have primary mental health needs relating to their history of trauma
  • prioritises those who currently do not have status in the UK

Exclusions

  • those who have only witnessed but never directly experienced violence, ill-treatment or exploitation
  • those who have refugee or humanitarian status, indefinite leave to remain or UK citizenship
