Need for patient consent before sharing reasonable adjustment information has been removed

NCL Wide

All providers should record patient reasonable adjustment information and store it on EMIS as a Reasonable Adjustment Digital Flag (RADF).

It is no longer necessary to obtain explicit patient consent for the sharing of reasonable adjustments. However the option to object to sharing reasonable adjustments is available on the National Care Records Service (NCRS). A guide on using the Reasonable Adjustment Flag in NCRS can be found on the NHS Digital website.

For more information on RADF, including tools for capturing reasonable adjustments, visit the reasonable adjustments page.
