From 19 February 2026, the NHS Bowel Screening Programme in London introduced digital pre-invitations via the NHS App. The pre-invites will be sent to all eligible patients who have previously completed Bowel Cancer Screening. 

Eligible patient will receive an NHS App message when they are due for their next screening. If they do not open the message within 39 hours, or if a digital message can't be sent, a paper letter will be sent to their registered address as a backup.

Patients should be encouraged to download the NHS App and enable notifications to ensure they receive their screening reminders promptly.
