Video consultation

NCL Wide

Amendments to the GMS and PMS regulations mean that all practices within England must offer video consultations to their patients.

Video consultations can provide a middle ground for appointments between face to face and telephone calls and can expand the scope of a remote clinical triage. Therefore you might want to think about how to incorporate use of video consultations into your approach to modern general practice to support with clinical triage, same day appointments and planned patient care.

A more detailed review of the considerations when offering video consultations to patients is available from NHS England.

If your online consultation provider is one of the recommended NCL suppliers (eConsult, PATCHS or Footfall), or Accurx, you also have access to their video consultation feature.
