Coaching Skills for Multi-Professional Supervisors: Haringey Multi-Professional Educator Group Session

This Multi-Professional Educator Group (MPEG) session, developed by the NCL Education Faculty, explores the value of using coaching in supervisor conversations, and provides models to support this in practice.

Session aims include:

  • understanding the basic principles of coaching
  • appreciating differences between teaching, coaching and mentoring
  • understanding why coaching is a useful skill for supervisors
  • observing and practicing a coach using TGROW

How can MPEGs support you?

  • the forum supports all roles who oversee, train and support colleagues in their daily responsibilities without formal educator/supervision training.
  • they provide free workshops to grow confidence and professional development.
  • they create a positive learning environment to share challenges and experiences related to supervision through case-based learning to manage risk and uncertainty together.
  • they offer a peer support forum to share resources and build consensus on effective clinical supervision for multi-disciplinary teams.
