Physiotherapy for Children
HaringeyProvided By
The service offers assessment and interventions for a range of conditions, including:
- neurodisabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida or congenital disorders
- neuromuscular disorders
- gross motor delay
- developmental disorders relating to prematurity
- baby orthopaedic conditions such as torticollis, plagiocephaly and Obstetrical Brachial Plexus Palsy.
- syndromes affecting a child's movement and motor function
- evolving motor disorders or gait abnormalities which are interfering with mobility and function
- children aged five and under with an MSK complaint.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusions
- Children and young people who are registered with a GP in Haringey aged 0-18
Exclusions
- Children and young people who are not registered with a Haringey GP
- Respiratory conditions such as cystic fibrosis or acute chest infections in children with motor disorders
- Flat feet or foot pain in typically developing children. Please refer these children to podiatry via haringey.adult-referrals@nhs.net
- Assessment or intervention for knock knees, bow legs or in-toeing walking patterns. These are normal variants. If bow legs or knock are excessive, worsening or occurring in a child over three then further investigations may be needed
- MSK referrals for young people aged 5 -18 should be sent to whh-tr.haringeymskreferrals@nhs.net
