Paediatric Super-Triage Service

Haringey

The East Haringey Paediatric Super-Triage Service is a pilot service that reviews hospital referrals and determin the best steps in care for children registered with practices the East Haringey Primary Care Networks (PCNs): Welbourne, North East, and N15. 

Referrals are jointly reviewed by a Haringey gp and a paediatric doctor from North Middlesex University Hospital.

Eligible practices should email referrals directly to the team rather than submitting them via the NHS e-Referral Service, unless the patient meets one of the exclusion criteria.


Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • registered with an East Haringey gp with in: Welbourne PCN, North East PCN, N15 PCN
  • all general paediatric referrals
  • paediatric:
    • cardiology
    • clinical immunology 
    • diabetes
    • endocrinology
    • epilepsy
    • gynaecology
    • gastroenterology
    • growth/developmental
    • haematology 
    • infectious diseases
    • medical oncology
    • nephrology
    • respiratory medicine
    • rheumatology
    • neurology.

Exclusions

  • referrals from outside East Haringey PCNs
  • rapid referrals/2WW
  • allergy
  • dermatology
  • ENT
  • MSK/orthopaedics    
  • ophthalmology
  • podiatry
  • urology.

Referral methods: Email

The referral form can be found on EMIS for all eligible practices. It is not available to practices outside the service remit. Once completed, email the form to nclicb.paedsupertriage@nhs.net
