Dexa scans are available for GP direct access.

  • By appointment only: Monday to Thursday 2pm-6pm (sometimes early morning lists and Friday lists are available)

Patient results

Results are provided back to the referrer and GP within 14 working days for urgent referrals and within four weeks for routine referrals. GPs will receive an email alerting them if there is a significant finding in an imaging report that requires them to act.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • Adults aged 18+ 
  • Children and young people <18
  • Ambulant or partially ambulant
  • Transport patients

Exclusions

  • Recent Dexa scan (within one year)
  • Bed bound patients
  • Contrast injection two weeks prior to appointment
  • Pregnancy 

How to Refer

GPs connected to Whittington ICE system can refer directly.

e: whh-tr.ImagingAppointments-WhittHealth@nhs.net or patients can bring the request form to the Imaging Department, on Level 3.

When referring a patient who needs hospital transport or who has mobility difficulties, please clearly mark this in the referral. This will help ensure that Imaging sites at WH have the appropriate number of staff during the patient's appointment and while they wait for their transport home.

Please note: patients should not contact the department to make an appointment.
