Dexa scans by appointment are available for GP direct access. Urgent referral results are delivered within 14 working days and routine results within four weeks. GPs are notified of significant findings. If not received, enquire by email.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

  • Adults aged 18+ 
  • Children and young people <18
  • Ambulant or partially ambulant
  • Transport patients

Exclusions

  • Recent Dexa scan (within one year)
  • Bed bound patients
  • Contrast injection two weeks prior to appointment
  • Pregnancy 

How to Refer

GPs connected to Whittington ICE system can refer directly.

Or complete the Imaging Referral Form – Whittington
e: whh-tr.ImagingAppointments-WhittHealth@nhs.net or patients can bring the request form to the Imaging Department, on Level 3.

When referring a patient who needs hospital transport or who has mobility difficulties, please clearly mark this in the referral. This will help ensure that Imaging sites at WH have the appropriate number of staff during the patient's appointment and while they wait for their transport home.

Please note: patients should not contact the department to make an appointment.
