Dermatology Service

Haringey

The Haringey Dermatology Service accepts referrals from primary care teams for diagnosis and treatment of pre-malignant conditions such as actinic keratoses.

In addition, referrals for complex primary care dermatological issues are welcomed, including:

  • acne vulgaris
  • rosacea
  • atopic eczema
  • psoriasis
  • pigmentary disorders (vitiligo, melasma and keloid)
  • surgical excision and biopsy service can be referred.

Patients who cannot be managed in the community clinic will be referred on to secondary care by the service.

The Haringey Dermatology Service operates across three GP practices: Bounds Green Group Practice (Bounds Green), The Vale Practice (Crouch End) and Westbury Medical Practice (Wood Green).


Eligibility Criteria

Inclusions

The service focuses on the following cohort of patients:

  • registered with a Haringey GP and whose primary care team need support managing a skin condition
  • general undiagnosed skin conditions
  • persistent localised skin lesions for diagnosis
  • conditions (primary care) (acne/eczema/psoriasis/alopecia etc) not responding to normal treatments
  • multiple solar keratoses / Bowen's disease
  • injection of keloid scars
  • where second more expert opinion is sought

Skin tags, warts and known benign moles causing concern can be referred for advice and/or treatment.

 

Exclusions

Malignant or potentially malignant conditions, such as:

  • melanoma
  • basal cell carcinoma
  • squamous cell carcinoma, should be referred directly to secondary care via a target pathway.
