CT & MRI Imaging: Barnet Hospital

Computerised tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans are available for GP direct access for suspected cancer, if patient meet the criteria.
- CT by appointment Monday to Friday 8am-5pm (except bank holidays)
- MRI by appointment Monday to Sunday 8am-8pm (provided by InHealth)
Patient results
Results are provided back to the referrer within 28 working days. If not received enquire by emaile: rf-tr.bh-radiology@nhs.net
Patient transport
When referring a patient who needs hospital transport or who has mobility difficulties, please clearly mark this in the referral. This will help ensure that Royal Free London (RFL) has the appropriate number of staff during the patient's appointment and while they wait for their transport home.
Healthcare professional enquiries
Imaging services provided by RFL are located across a number of trust sites including Barnet Hospital.
There is a central point of contact for HCP enquiries about imaging.

Eligibility Criteria
Inclusions
- CT abdomen and pelvis with contrast (pancreatic cancer - proforma)
- CT KUB and CT head (suspected cancer if MRI is contraindicated)
- MRI brain and CNS only
Exclusions
- referrals for other scan types are not accepted
For MRI
- patients with pacemakers are excluded

Otherwise, complete the Radiology Request – RFH form
