Bone Health & Fracture Liaison Community Service
EnfieldProvided By
The Enfield Bone Health and Fracture Liaison Community Service is a team of nurses who aim to provide specialist holistic assessment and advice with treatment and management of bone health.
As part of the assessment, the service can assess the risk of a fracture by looking at the relevant risk factors. The service can refer for a DXA scan and then determine if bone sparing medication or lifestyle advice is more appropriate.
Onward referrals are made where appropriate.
The service follows evidence-based practice and works in line with NICE guidelines and use resources from the Royal Osteoporosis Society.
They also work together with local acute hospitals, GPs and other community-based teams.
