Adult audiology service, based at St Ann's Hospital. This consultant-led department offers hearing and balance assessment, amplification, rehabilitation and hearing therapy.

• General wax problems should not be referred to the service. If a patient requires micro-suction because ear irrigation is contradicted, they should be referred to the community ENT service, as should those with disorders of the outer-ear canal.
