Audiology & Vestibular Medicine: WH St Ann's Hospital

Adult and paediatric audiology service, based at St Ann's Hospital. This consultant-led department provides assessment, diagnostics and treatment primarily for the residents of Haringey.
The paediatrics team offers the full range of diagnostic and electrophysiological procedures for newborns up to 18, or 19 years if they are still in education and have developmental problems or a disability.
The service provides hearing assessments for babies and children with GPs in Haringey.
It also provides specialist diagnostics, and management of permanent hearing losses for children with GPs based in Haringey and Enfield and for babies referred from the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme.
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusions
- Adults registered with GPs in Haringey.
- Children living in or attending school in Haringey, from newborn to 18 years, or 19 years if they are still in education and have developmental problems or a disability.
Exclusions
- General wax problems should not be referred to the service. If a patient requires micro-suction because ear irrigation is contradicted, they should be referred to the community ENT service, as should those with disorders of the outer-ear canal.
