Work and health: Improving access to employment support from general practice

Camden

GPs, social prescribers and other primary care staff in Camden are being asked to complete a short survey about their knowledge of employment support services in the borough. Responses will help to inform plans for training and improvements to referral pathways.

Knowing that unemployment, insecure work and low pay have an adverse impact on health. Camden Council’s health and wellbeing strategy prioritises helping residents find and remain in good-quality employment, aiming to reverse the rising trend of working-age adults out of work due to ill health.

There are various options of employment support in Camden, many focusing on supporting people with mental and physical health challenges.

The work and health survey seeks to understand how much GPs practices know about local employment support, their attitudes towards the role of practices referring to these services, and capture ideas on improving referral rates.

Further information is available in the download.

Complete the short survey by Friday 5 December.
