NHSE Update to cap limit

NHS England (NHSE) has removed the notional cap on Advice and Guidance (A&G) claims for 2025-26. NCL ICB has done the same, so practices can now claim all eligible A&G activity with no limit. This means that practices no longer have a limit to the number of eligible claims per year, and NCL ICB encourage practices to maximise use of this service.

Submitting A&G claims

Some practices still have outstanding or incomplete claims. Practices are urged to upload all pending data as soon as possible to avoid complicated year-end reconciliation. If you’re experiencing coding issues, contact the primary care team for support.

Key reminders:

  • submit manual claims via CQRS National by the 12th of each month
  • ensure you upload a figure every month, even ‘0’ to avoid follow-ups.

NCL ICB Guidance

The NCL Advice and Guidance Coding Good Practice document is available on the Advice & Guidance Enhanced Service page. It includes guidance on:

  • correct coding
  • EMIS resources
  • how to review activity
  • F12 protocol/template
  • safety netting and further tips.

Contact the primary care team at nclicb.nclprimarycare@nhs.net if you have any queries.
