The Royal Free London is looking to recruit to 4 clinical sessions of a GP with a specialist interest in cardiology. These could be single sessions from 4 applicants or up to 2 sessions per applicant.
The role of the GP cardiologist is to bridge the gap between GP and specialist cardiology service based at Royal Free London. GP cardiologists will work under the Trusts governance and will receive support and mentoring from a nominated secondary care consultant.
The postholder will:
- see patients within the Community Diagnostic Centre located at Finchley Memorial hospital, supporting outpatient clinics under the supervision of a named consultant
- be supported to initiate and interpret clinical investigations and engage with other clinical specialities in support of patient care
- communicate with the patient and referring GP with regards to diagnosis and any further management and recommendations that may be required.
In time, the post holder will become a local expert to help provide support to other primary care practioners and become key in designing co-created initiatives in neighborhood-based care.
The successful applicant/s would be part of the wider specialist cardiology team and would need to be available to support activity that positively impacts patients’ pathways and access and there will also be the opportunity to attend MDT meetings.
Any GP interested in the role can submit an expression of interest, in a short letter detailing why you are interested in the role and your experience to date, by midnight, Wednesday 17 December to Dr Rebecca Schoefield, consultant cardiologist.
For additional details about the role, join the upcoming online joint discussion hosted by Dr. Schofield and Senior Operations Manager Catherine Endeley-Brown on Wednesday 17 December, from 6pm to 8pm.
